Aim of programme
:
To allow students new to the industry, or those with some previous experience or a lower level qualification in this area, to develop their practical ability and theory knowledge of first aid, agrichemical safety, ATV and tractor safety, as well as industry specific knowledge and skills, to obtain employment or advance their career within the horticulture industry
Entry Requirements:
Applicants must have enthusiasm for, and interest in horticulture related activities, previous or current employment within the horticulture industry or an interest in becoming employed within the horticulture industry. International students must have an IELTS score of at least 5.0 or evidence of equivalent English language proficiency.
Delivery method
:
Weekly theory tutorials with practical learning in an appropriate venue such as plant nursery, orchard or vineyard.
Assessment method
:
Written tests and assignments, oral tests, workbooks, simulations, observation, workplace documentation, feedback from supervisors, naturally occurring evidence.

:
40 weeks (including holiday weeks)
